Vision Pro has great potential for gaming, but we haven’t seen much of that yet. Today, there’s some exciting news from NVIDIA. They announced that their game streaming service, GeForce NOW, is coming to Vision Pro later this month. This will happen with the new app update, version 2.0.70.
NVIDIA is working with Apple, Meta, and ByteDance to bring GeForce NOW to the Vision Pro, Meta Quest 3, and Pico devices. This means you’ll have access to a huge library of games. You can stream these games by visiting play.geforcenow.com in Safari.
Instead of a separate app for Vision Pro, NVIDIA will optimize GeForce NOW to work well in Safari on visionOS. The Vision Pro and other VR devices will support gamepad-compatible games. If you have a GeForce NOW Ultimate or Performance membership, you can enjoy enhanced graphics with NVIDIA’s RTX and DLSS technologies.
This news comes after a report that Apple and Sony are working to support the PlayStation VR2 controllers on Vision Pro. It looks like the gaming scene on Vision Pro is starting to take shape.
Game streaming has had a tough time on Apple devices, mainly due to App Store rules. But Apple changed its policies last year to allow game streaming apps. We haven’t seen a lot of new developers jump in yet, but today’s news is a positive step.
